Roscoe Communications was contracted to provide marketing, communications and community engagement support for the Camborne Town Deal project from 2020 - 2021.

Home to Richard Trevithick and today a community of over 20,000 people, Camborne is one of four towns in Cornwall selected to participate in the Government’s Towns Fund Deal and now has the opportunity to bid for up to £25 million to help fund a bustling town centre economy, with business and leisure opportunities to be enjoyed for current and future generations.

The Towns Fund was launched in November 2019 by Rt. Hon. Robert Jenrick MP. This funding will help towns to deliver economic growth with a focus on regeneration, improved transport, better broadband connectivity, skills and culture. 

Cornwall Council has been acting as the ‘Lead Council’ as part of this process and has appointed an experienced local project manager, Chloe Lorraine, to work with the Camborne Town Deal Board to develop a Town Investment Plan, which will set out the vision for the projects the cash will fund.

Roscoe Communications was commissioned to:

  • Undertake scoping, research and stakeholder meetings

  • Deliver a comprehensive marketing and engagement plan for the Town Deal Board

  • Agree messaging, tone of voice and desired outcomes

  • Develop a channel stategy for delivering these messages and to include a detailed timeline for delivery

  • Provide a full communications management service for the Board, providing effective management and delivery of Camborne's engagement communications

  • Production of content for online and offline communications

  • Social media management

  • Production of digital collateral, including email newsletters, digital advertising and search advertising

  • Ongoing advice and guidance about audience communication

  • Providing PR support and media relations for the Camborne Town Board

  • Liaison with other appointed contractors

  • Monthly reporting to the Board about the development of the engagement plan and the evaluation of impact

  • Analysis and reporting on campaign results and engagement with marketing channels

Camborne Town Deal were awarded £23,9m by the Government in July 2021, successfully securing funding to help to revitalise the town.
