The Roman Baths

I joined The Roman Baths on a three month contract, stepping in to work across their digital channels providing crucial support during a period of change for one of the UK’s top visitor attractions.

Main areas for the contract included managing website content, overseeing email communications, and social media management for the Roman Baths and the Victoria Art Gallery.

The Roman Baths in Bath, England, is a major historical site showcasing the remains of a Roman spa complex, including the Great Bath filled with hot spring water. It's a popular tourist attraction offering a glimpse into Roman life, including the religious practices of the time. Visitors can explore the ruins, walk on original Roman pavements, and see the Temple of Sulis Minerva.

There are some beautiful features including:

  • Great Bath:

  • The central feature, a large pool fed by hot spring water, still flowing today.

  • Temple of Sulis Minerva:

The ruins of the temple where the Romans worshipped the goddess Sulis Minerva.

  • Interactive Museum:

An interactive museum explores Roman life and the site's history, including artifacts like a gilt bronze head of Sulis Minerva.

  • Walkable Ruins:

Visitors can walk on the original Roman pavements and explore chambers like changing rooms and plunge pools.

  • Thermal Springs:

The site is built around natural hot springs that have been used for bathing for over 2,000 years.
